Make your art more exciting! This applies to all genres of visual art: Abstract, Landscape, Figurative, Still Life.
The emphasis of this class is to acquaint you with the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. As you develop your own eye, your critical eye will lead to enhancing your own work, and it will also qualify you to recognize good design in the art around you. The design process involves seeking visual solutions to problems. The arts are “creative” fields because there are no predetermined correct answers to the problems. Infinite variations in individual interpretations and applications are possible. The design guidelines do not limit the artist to any specific solutions. In another perspective it is valuable to know the rules of art which gives the artist confidence in breaking the rules of art.
The first hour of the class will be a visual presentation of art work as the instructor discusses the Elements of Art and Principles of Design in each work. In addition, before and after pictures of revised art work showing improvements will be reviewed. The latter part of the class will be students working on enhancing their own compositions. (Bring artworks that you would like to improve, and necessary art supplies – paints, brushes, cleaners, mediums, paper towels palette paper etc.) Fee $50 / 4 hours / 6 students Max
