Chisara Okehi

 Chisara Okehi  is a San Francisco Bay Area Artist. 

​Chisara Okehi is a talented crocheter residing in the Bay Area. Her journey with crochet began at the age of 10, under the guidance of her beloved aunt Pat, with whom she spent school breaks and summers crocheting, laughing, and watching soap operas. This special bond was interrupted when life took a different turn, leading to a two-decade hiatus from crocheting.

It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic, during a period of widespread anxiety and uncertainty, that Chisara rediscovered her love for the craft. Seeking solace and a way to manage her anxiety, she retaught herself how to crochet. This process became a powerful tool for relaxation, reflection, and healing. What started with making "love blankets" for her family and friends—symbols of her care and affection—soon evolved into a deeper creative journey.

Chisara’s rekindled passion has led to the creation of her purse collection, "Reflection." This collection is a celebration of joy, hope, and happiness, themes deeply inspired by her personal journey. The vibrant colors and diverse yarns, including polyester, cotton, and jersey fabric, reflect her creative spirit. For Chisara, crocheting is more than just a craft; it is her self-care, her safe place, and her peace.
